The City of Naperville is seeking Equipment Technician I, II, or III in the Fleet Division to repair, overhaul, service, and maintain a wide range of city fleet vehicles including heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, and ambulances.

This is a 2nd shift position (11:30am-8pm) with a 10% premium. The hiring range is $32.3516–$46.5048 per hour, with pay grades N230, N240, or N245 depending on credentials and experience.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent plus technical training.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Must possess complete set of automotive tools with mobile storage.
• Equipment Technician I: minimum two ASE Certifications.
• Equipment Technician II: EVT Level I & II certifications for Fire Apparatus and Ambulance.
• Equipment Technician III: EVT Level III certifications for Fire Apparatus and Ambulance.
• Valid Illinois CDL Class B; must obtain Class A within six months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects and repairs mechanical problems on heavy equipment, engines, hydraulics, and pumps.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintains records of repairs and maintenance.
• Maintains heavy-duty trucks and off-road equipment; performs repairs.
• Participates in training and keeps up with new technology.
• Performs welding and fabrication on body/frame parts and custom accessories.
• Maintains clean work area and follows safety rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
