Job summary

Holland, L.P. seeks a Director of Operations – Fleet and Equipment to drive safe, efficient, and compliant operations across PM shops, mobile welding assets, and field sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Fleet Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive fleet, equipment, maintenance, or transportation operations experience.
• 5+ years leading managers and multi-location operations preferred.
• Demonstrated responsibility for a large, geographically dispersed fleet or heavy/mobile equipment operation.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and equipment lifecycle decisions.
• Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, reliability, refurbishment, equipment utilization, downtime reduction, and lifecycle management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and schematics.
• Experience using maintenance and operating data to improve uptime, PM compliance, asset utilization, and total cost of ownership.
• Experience with parts/inventory management, procurement, OEMs, repair vendors, and supplier negotiations.
• Experience developing equipment replacement and capital planning strategies.
• Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
• Maintain a current eRailsafe badge and valid Passport
• Must possess a valid drivers license and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy

Responsibilities

• Oversee PM shops and fleet assets to align with company objectives.
• Lead and manage end-to-end Preventative Maintenance Program across locations.
• Provide direction for maintaining, repairing, refurbishing, and manufacturing operating equipment to maximize uptime.
• Coordinate between operations, PM shops, scheduling, and inventory to minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and regulatory requirements (FMCSA, DOT, FRA, OSHA).
• Lead fleet safety programs including ELD systems and audits to improve safety metrics.
• Develop and oversee budgets for PM shops, fleet maintenance, and capital expenditures; monitor costs.
• Review KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve uptime, utilization, and safety.
• Utilize IFS, Power BI, Samsara for maintenance tracking and data-driven decisions.
• Coordinate capital planning and supplier management for fleet and equipment.
• Oversee MOD inventory planning with Purchasing/Warehouse for parts and PPE.
• Support HR in staffing, onboarding, and workforce planning for PM shops and field ops.
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and field personnel.
• Participate in strategic planning and execute action plans aligned with divisional goals.
• Lead meetings to align on safety, compliance, and performance initiatives.
• Ensure documentation, licensing, and compliance reporting are completed on time.
• Travel as required to company, customer, and field locations.

Education
