Job summary

McKee is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of a construction fleet across multiple job sites. The role focuses on uptime, safety, and cost control for excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and more.

Ideal candidates have 5–10+ years in heavy equipment maintenance with supervisory experience, strong knowledge of diesel systems, and experience with OEM diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in heavy equipment maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, undercarriage and heavy equipment electrical systems.
• Experience with OEM diagnostic software (Cat ET, John Deere Service Advisor).
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations relevant to construction equipment.
• Experience managing field service operations across multiple/remote job sites.
• Proficiency with CMMS/fleet management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programs for heavy equipment.
• Manage a team of mechanics/technicians and field service crews.
• Coordinate emergency repairs to minimize delays.
• Oversee fleet inventory and repair-vs-replace decisions.
• Maintain relationships with OEM dealers and parts suppliers.
• Track maintenance costs and downtime using fleet/CMMS software.
• Ensure DOT/OSHA compliance for equipment and sites.
• Oversee inspections and shop/mobile service operations.
• Plan and manage warranty claims.
• Coordinate equipment transport between job sites.
• Train operators and technicians on maintenance and safe operation.
