Job summary

World Trade Logistics (WTL), a premier regional 3PL and freight forwarder in the Baltimore/Washington area, seeks a Dispatch Coordinator to organize daily driver routes, monitor Samsara GPS tracking, and relay route changes to drivers in real time.

You will maintain dispatch records, coordinate vehicle maintenance, respond to customer inquiries, ensure regulatory compliance, and help boost route efficiency and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of cartage / truck transport dispatching experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with routing, GPS tracking, or transportation management systems.
• Knowledge of the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia corridor.
• Prior experience working with delivery fleets.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and coordinate drivers for daily pickup and delivery routes.
• Monitor vehicle locations and route progress using Samsara GPS Fleet Tracking.
• Communicate with drivers about route changes, delays, and customer requirements.
• Maintain dispatch records and daily activity logs.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs.
• Assist with driver scheduling and timekeeping.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding deliveries and service status.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
• Track and report key operational metrics and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with management to improve route efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Work Monday through Friday; occasional after-hours phone support.
