Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a Fleet Technician III to diagnose, adjust and repair class 8 tractor and trailing fleet equipment, including diesel engines, electrical, brake, and DEF systems. You will conduct preventive maintenance, perform tire repairs, and ensure safety and DOT compliance.

The role requires 4 years of hands-on fleet maintenance experience, a high school diploma, ASE/608/609 certifications preferred, strong communication, and the ability to travel for training.

Qualifications

• 4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational / Technical or certification preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills.
• Expert understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices.
• Organized with the ability to deal with multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components; ASE and 608/609 preferred.
• Proficiency with tools including welding equipment and diagnostic equipment.
• Clean MVR and ability to operate service truck preferred.
• Must communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Own tools sufficient to do any job; willing to travel for training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust and repair class 8 fleet equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and tire repairs.
• Mentor other technicians as needed and provide repair instructions.
• Ensure DOT compliance and document work completed.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Enter transactions in the maintenance system.
