Job summary

Nexus Disposal is seeking a Service Technician to support our fleet maintenance in Houston. You will handle tire work, greasing, daily inspections, and documentation to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and uptime targets.

The role requires a high school diploma, prior fleet maintenance experience, and a focus on accuracy and safety. CDL is a plus but not required, with opportunities to grow in a team-oriented shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in fleet maintenance.
• Certification in tire maintenance or automotive repair is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and detail orientation.
• Record-keeping and paperwork proficiency.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily wheel and tire installations, including balancing and air pressure checks.
• Conduct daily checks of all fluid levels and replenish as needed.
• Maintain tire and lube records and keep documentation up-to-date.
• Complete paperwork for vehicle repairs and track parts usage.
• Respond to tire service calls to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Perform small repairs as assigned to keep vehicles in good condition.
• Review Vehicle Condition Reports to verify completed repairs.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance, including greasing and lubrication.
• Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical services and safety checks.
• Inspect and lubricate commercial vehicles to ensure reliability.
