Job summary

George’s Inc. in Edinburg, VA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and replace components on its fleet vehicles and equipment. You will support the Truck Shop with preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of major truck components. CDL is preferred. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with published pay range.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid State Driver’s license, approved to drive per Fleet Safety Program.
• Knowledge of repair, overhaul and replacement of major truck components.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair fleet vehicles and equipment for George’s Inc.
• Identify problems on fleet vehicles, often via diagnostic equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot to estimate repair costs.
• Plan work procedures using manuals and experience.
• Test parts and systems for proper function.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment.
