Job summary

Zūm Services, Inc. in St. Louis is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose faults and repair a fleet of medium/high‑duty vehicles, including electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, powertrain, suspension, and transmissions.

You will verify repairs via test drives and coordinate inspections before releasing vehicles. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hands-on fleet repair experience, a valid CDL, strong diagnostic skills, and tool proficiency.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic capability with electrical systems and A/C.
• Hands-on knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment; experience with both diesel and gasoline platforms.
• Valid state driver’s license with CDL required.
• ASE certifications are a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete repairs across vehicle systems: steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drivetrains, suspensions, power-steering units, clutches, and transmissions.
• Adjust, test, and when needed rebuild engines; address oil, temperature, and fuel/gas regulating components.
• Conduct verification test drives to confirm the concern is resolved.
• Coordinate required inspections and obtain approvals prior to releasing vehicles from the shop.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area; document labor time and parts used.
• Perform road calls and on-site roadside repairs as assigned.
• Escalate findings and refer tasks that require higher technician qualification; alert Lead Technician to unsafe practices.
