Job summary

The Mechanic at Cemex US in Lake Worth Beach, FL, diagnoses and repairs diesel tractors, trailers, and related vehicles to keep fleets operating safely and reliably.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance, following OSHA and company safety policies. Some travel may be required, and a valid driver’s license plus forklift or TWIC readiness may be needed for service assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to read and interpret mechanical instructions and schematics
• Candidate may need to obtain CDL within 180 days if required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle problems and repair according to accepted methods
• Discuss complex repairs with Supervisor or Terminal Manager
• Enforce safety policies (lockout/tagout, hazard assessment)
• Perform routine maintenance per PM checklist
• Repair or replace components such as engines, radiators, brakes, clutches, transmissions
• Disassemble components to inspect wear and determine failure causes
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and electrical circuitry
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
• Some regional travel to service company equipment
• Enter work orders for inventory and maintenance tracking
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations

Valid Driver’s License (Class A/B CDL)

Forklift certified or willing

TWIC preferred or willing
