Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Maintenance and Damage Manager in Newark, NJ. You will oversee the fleet services function, including vehicle damage repair, in-fleeting/de-fleeting, and safety/compliance across operations.

You will lead a high-performing team, drive operational excellence and ensure profitability by optimizing repair cycles, vendor relationships and KPI attainment. The role requires 2+ years of management experience in related fields, a valid driver's license, and the

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years management experience in related field (rental car, automotive shop or service oriented)
• Valid driver’s license and background check
• Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, nights or weekends
• Strong vendor management and negotiation capabilities
• Experience with safety policies and performance management

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet services function for damage repair, in-fleeting/de-fleeting and vehicle maintenance
• Set and monitor goals and KPIs for damage operations
• Prioritize vehicles for repair or salvage and coordinate with body shops
• Manage repair orders, labor hours, parts sourcing and cycle times
• Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate rates, and conduct audits
• Manage staff performance, training, recognition and HR processes
