Job summary

Tata Technologies in Michigan is seeking a Fleet Operations Technician to support vehicle fleet operations and engineering activities, blending hands-on vehicle work with fleet coordination, prototype support, and administrative duties for Stellantis vehicle programs.

You will manage a diverse fleet including gas, hybrid, and electric vehicles, assist engineering with part installations, diagnostics, and software updates, and ensure registrations and compliance are current.

Qualifications

  • Education: Automotive Technician Degree or Automotive Technical Certificate.
  • Strong automotive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Understanding of engines, transmissions and control modules.
  • Experience with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with OBD diagnostics and repair practices.
  • Ability to install parts and perform fitment checks.
  • Experience with prototype or development vehicles.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software/tools.
  • Exposure to hybrid/electric vehicle systems.
  • Experience supporting engineering or research fleets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the vehicle fleet.
  • Support engineering teams with part installations and fitment checks.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with vehicle software updates.
  • Coordinate vehicle scheduling and availability.
  • Track and maintain vehicle registrations, insurance, tabs, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate vehicle deliveries to suppliers and Stellantis facilities.
  • Document installation results, fitment concerns, and engineering feedback.
  • Communicate findings with engineering teams and suppliers.

Job description

This is a position supporting vehicle fleet operations and engineering activities. The role combines fleet coordination, hands-on vehicle work, prototype support, and administrative responsibilities. The individual will help manage a wide variety of Stellantis vehicles, including gas, hybrid, electric, production, and prototype vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the vehicle fleet.
  • Support engineering teams with part installations and fitment checks.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with vehicle software updates.
  • Coordinate vehicle scheduling and availability.
  • Track and maintain vehicle registrations, insurance, tabs, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate vehicle deliveries to suppliers and Stellantis facilities.
  • Document installation results, fitment concerns, and engineering feedback.
  • Communicate findings with engineering teams and suppliers.

Key Must Have’s:

  • Education Requirements: Automotive Technician Degree / Automotive Technical Associate Degree or Automotive Technical Certificate
  • Strong automotive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and control modules.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with OBD diagnostics and standard automotive repair practices.
  • Ability to perform part installations, fitment checks, and basic wiring modifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic vehicle issues.
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience working with prototype or development vehicles.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic software and tools.
  • Exposure to hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
  • Previous experience supporting engineering or research vehicle fleets.
  • Familiarity with tools such as CDA/CAC, Service Library, or Star Parts, would be helpful.
