Job summary

Allegiant Air is seeking an Avionics & System Engineer to develop engineering solutions for aircraft systems, ensuring on-time fleet operations and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with line maintenance, OEMs, and internal teams to drive reliability improvements and manage engineering tasks.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with hands-on experience in hydraulics, wiring changes, and system testing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OEM SB, AD, STC, FAA regulations, CMM.
• Ability to interpret and apply OEM Wiring and Schematic Diagram Manuals.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics, wiring changes, and testing under 14 CFR Part 23 & 91.
• Strong collaboration with Engineering to meet stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to manage projects and liaise with Allegiant teams and OEMs.
• Develop engineering standards, troubleshooting instructions, and training materials.
• Proficiency with TRAX, Arbortext, and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; able to lift 50 lbs; available for flight-line/workshop work.

Responsibilities

• Research and provide data to support modifications to improve fleet reliability.
• Oversee contracted repair agencies performing heavy maintenance and repairs to aircraft components.
• Develop Engineering Orders (EO) and Engineering Repair Orders (ERO).
• Coordinate project plans with Materials/Purchasing, Maintenance Planning, and Maintenance Control.
• Coordinate with MRO to ensure approved data is used for repairs/modifications.
• Assist with reliability analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards through leadership actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Avionics and Systems Engineering.
