Job summary

City of Casper, WY is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose, service, and repair a variety of municipal vehicles and equipment. The role ensures the fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community, with a team-friendly shop environment featuring heated floors.

The position operates 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and requires basic welding and maintenance knowledge with a focus on engines, drive trains, and HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on city vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose issues and perform mechanical repairs on light to medium-duty vehicles.
• Enter service notes on work orders and document parts used.
• Assist with heavy equipment as needed and maintain shop records.
• Provide courteous, professional public service and adhere to safety rules.
