Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a hands-on Automotive Mechanic Technician II in Michigan to perform preventive maintenance, vehicle repairs, and diagnostics for fleet vehicles.

The role demands ASE certifications, a valid driver's license, and 2–3 years of service experience. You will work Monday–Friday 6 AM–2:30 PM, with some flexibility for weekends or holidays as needed.

Teamwork and safety compliance are essential, with a focus on cost control and delivering quality service to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• State or ASE Certifications required.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
• 2-3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to workdays, afternoons, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must continue training to maintain current Certification status.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive Maintenance such as oil changes, filters, battery checks, and inspections.
• Perform more complex repairs, diagnostics, and some fabrication.
• Work on OBD II systems, brakes, tune-ups, suspensions, electrical systems, engine, and drive-line components.
• Maintain a clean shop, follow safety standards, and properly dispose of fluids.
