Job summary

Cox Automotive in Michigan is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician II to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fleet vehicles, with a focus on quality and cost control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• State or ASE Certifications required.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• 2-3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service preferred.
• Must be able to work days, afternoons, weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Must maintain current State Certification status and adapt to tech changes.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive Maintenance such as oil and filter changes, battery, and inspection.
• Perform more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and some fabrication.
• Work on OBD II systems, brakes, tune-ups, suspension, electrical and drive line components.
• Keep shop clean and follow safety regulations; dispose fluids properly.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex vehicle systems, including hybrids and onboard computers.
• Take initiative and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
