Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician II for Monroe, MI. The mid-level technician delivers high-quality preventive maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles and can work independently or as part of a team to ensure exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include oil changes, inspections, complex repairs, diagnostics, and work on hybrids and on-board computer systems. ASE/state certifications and a valid license are required; flexibility for days, afternoons,

Qualifications

High School Diploma preferred.
State or ASE Certifications required.
Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
2-3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
Must be able to workdays, afternoons, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Must continue training to maintain current State Certification status and to meet with technology and fleet changes as they occur.

Responsibilities

Perform Preventive Maintenance such as oil changes, oil filters, fuel filter, battery, transmission flush, and vehicle inspection for mechanical deficiencies.
Performs more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and some fabrication.
Based upon certification levels, perform repairs and maintenance including OBD II systems, brakes, tune-ups, suspension, electrical, and drive-line components.
Keep the shop area clean; perform work safely and dispose of fluids per regulations.
Troubleshoot and repair complex systems including hybrids and on-board computer systems.
Take initiative to ensure work is of high quality and meet business requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
