Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, trailers, vehicles, and towable assets.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and OSHA safety requirements.
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead drivers/operators and coordinate across multiple departments.
• Proficiency in fleet management software, asset tracking, or ERP systems.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mobilization and demobilization of fleet assets for project-based work and emergency response.
• Coordinate drivers, operators, transport suppliers, and deploy to ensure safe, efficient movement of assets.
• Maintain compliance reporting for CDL vehicles (TXDOT, USDOT, IRP, MC, IFTA).
• Develop preventative maintenance programs; manage repairs and maintenance logs.
• Forecast replacement timelines and budget for asset lifecycle management.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure DOT/OSHA compliance across fleet operations.
• Prepare fleet status and readiness reports for leadership.

This role ensures the fleet is maintained to the highest safety and compliance standards while supporting both routine operations and rapid deployment needs for project-based and emergency response work. The Fleet Manager develops preventative maintenance programs, manages repairs, tracks utilization, and coordinates asset movement across job sites.Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Operations and LogisticsManage and schedule the mobilization and demobilization of fleet assets for project-based work and emergency response.Coordinate drivers, operators, transport suppliers, and occasionally deploy to ensure safe, efficient movement of rolling assets.Maintain compliance reporting for all CDL vehicles, including TXDOT Number, USDOT Number, IRP, MC Number, and IFTA requirements.Optimize asset utilization across projects to reduce downtime and unnecessary rental costs.Consistently model safe behaviors and hold others accountable to the same standards.Maintenance and RepairDevelop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all rolling/moveable assets, including but not limited to vehicles, trailers, and towable equipment.Oversee inspections, routine servicing, and major repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.Establish and manage relationships with service vendors and mechanics.Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, work orders, and repair histories for compliance and lifecycle planning.Implement a system to forecast replacement timelines and budget for asset lifecycle management.Compliance and SafetyOversee telematics system for all fleet vehicles.Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet DOT, OSHA, and manufacturer safety standards.Lead accident investigations, insurance claims, and corrective action plans when incidents occur.Promote a proactive safety culture by leading through example and influencing safe decision-making.Administrative and Financial ManagementDevelop fleet budgets covering fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance, and replacement.Track operating costs per vehicle/asset to evaluate efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.Use asset management software or ERP to log utilization, maintenance, and cost data.Prepare regular fleet status and readiness reports for leadership.Asset ManagementSupport a diverse and fluid set of operational needs to the executive team and project demands.Oversee deployment and maintenance of non-rolling assets in support of client needs.Support the HQ campus for operational readiness.QualificationsProven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.Knowledge of heavy equipment, trailers, vehicles, and towable support assets.Strong understanding of preventative maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management.Familiarity with DOT regulations and OSHA safety requirements.CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to lead drivers/operators and coordinate across multiple departments.Proficiency in fleet management software, asset tracking, or ERP systems.Travel up to 20%
