Krise Transportation is seeking a Fleet Asset Manager to provide strategic oversight of the company’s fleet assets, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational readiness across districts. You will manage lifecycle planning, asset deployment, and continuous improvement in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Finance, and regional leadership.

The role requires strong analytical skills, vendor management experience, and expertise in fleet-management systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation Management, Operations Management, Asset Management, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fleet, transportation, asset management, maintenance, operations, or related field.
• Experience managing projects, vendors, budgets, and priorities across multiple locations.
• School bus or student transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the lifecycle of company-owned and leased vehicles and related fleet assets.
• Develop and maintain the annual fleet replacement plan and rolling five-year plan.
• Coordinate vehicle acquisition, leasing, deployment, transfer, and disposal activities.
• Ensure district-specific fleet requirements, numbering, decals, and contract requirements are met.
• Establish measurable fleet utilization KPIs and provide quarterly reporting.
• Maintain fleet compliance dashboards, reporting tools, and corrective-action tracking.
• Oversee planning, installation, and tracking of GPS, cameras, Telematics, and AI safety systems.
• Create reports and dashboards to support operational and capital decisions.

The Fleet Asset Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, compliance, readiness, utilization, and lifecycle management of Krise Transportation's fleet assets. This position ensures vehicles, equipment, and related fleet resources are safe, compliant, operationally ready, and aligned with customer contract requirements.The role serves as the primary point of contact for fleet planning, replacement strategy, vehicle deployment, fleet technology, asset utilization, compliance, and continuous improvement. The Fleet Asset Manager partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Finance, Human Resources, regional leadership, and external vendors to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFleet Strategy, Planning & Asset ManagementOversee the lifecycle of company-owned and leased vehicles and related fleet assets.Develop and maintain the annual fleet replacement plan and a rolling five-year fleet replacement and capital recommendation plan.Coordinate vehicle acquisition, leasing, deployment, transfer, redeployment, replacement, and disposal activities.Ensure district-specific fleet requirements, numbering, decals, identification, documentation, and contract requirements are met.Manage spare vehicle strategy, vehicle cascade planning, and asset redeployment to improve utilization and control cost.Establish measurable fleet utilization KPIs and provide quarterly reporting.Fleet Compliance & ReadinessMaintain accurate records for vehicle registrations, titles, insurance, permits, inspections, numbering, identification, electronic equipment, and required documentation.Ensure assigned vehicles comply with applicable district contract requirements before entering service.Coordinate fleet readiness activities so terminals are prepared before school startup.Develop and maintain fleet compliance dashboards, reporting tools, audit processes, and corrective-action tracking.Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety to ensure fleet standards are consistently executed.Fleet Technology, Systems & ReportingOversee the planning, installation, deployment, and tracking of GPS, camera, radio, telematics, AI safety systems, and other fleet technologies.Manage fleet-management systems and maintain accurate, timely fleet and asset data.Standardize vehicle status, out-of-service reporting, equipment tracking, and related fleet workflows.Create reports, dashboards, and management information that support operational and capital decisions.Identify and implement technology and process improvements that strengthen safety, compliance, efficiency, and accountability.Fleet Infrastructure SupportCoordinate facility-related requirements that directly affect fleet readiness, vehicle storage, maintenance access, fueling, or equipment deployment.Support fuel tank inspections, permits, certifications, and related compliance requirements in partnership with internal and external resources.Assist regional leaders with temporary infrastructure needs associated with fleet deployments, operational startups, or expansions.Coordinate with vendors, lessors, and operations leaders on assigned fleet-related infrastructure matters.Vendor & Project ManagementManage relationships with vehicle suppliers, leasing companies, dealerships, equipment vendors, registration providers, and regulatory agencies.Coordinate vendor schedules, deliverables, documentation, and performance expectations.Plan and execute fleet projects with clear ownership, timelines, status reporting, and issue escalation.Partner with Finance and Operations on procurement, cost tracking, capital planning, and cost-saving or cost-avoidance opportunities.Support operational startups, transitions, and growth initiatives requiring fleet resources.Leadership & Continuous ImprovementLead fleet initiatives that support safety, service reliability, compliance, cost control, and organizational growth.Develop and improve fleet policies, procedures, controls, and operating processes.Build strong cross-functional relationships and provide responsive support to field and regional leaders.Develop assigned administrative and support personnel through clear expectations, coaching, accountability, and delegation.Promote a culture of safety, urgency, communication, follow-through, and continuous improvement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong knowledge of fleet lifecycle management, asset utilization, vehicle registration, leasing, compliance, and replacement planning.Ability to manage fleet assets, projects, and priorities across multiple operating locations.Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data, KPIs, and reporting to improve decisions and performance.Excellent project-management, organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Finance, Human Resources, regional leadership, vendors, and outside agencies.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet, asset, GPS, telematics, and business-management systems.Sound judgment, attention to detail, discretion, and commitment to student safety and regulatory compliance.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation Management, Operations Management, Asset Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fleet, transportation, asset management, maintenance, operations, or a related field.Experience managing projects, vendors, budgets, and priorities across multiple operating locations.School bus or student transportation experience preferred.Experience with fleet-management systems such as Cetaris, GPS or telematics platforms, and Microsoft Office preferred.Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, state transportation, and student transportation requirements preferred.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSMaintain fleet compliance and accurate supporting documentation.Execute fleet replacement, deployment, and readiness plans before required operational startup dates.Improve fleet utilization through disciplined spare management, vehicle cascade planning, and equipment redeployment.Deliver measurable cost savings or cost avoidance while maintaining safety and contract compliance.Complete assigned projects on schedule with clear communication, accurate reporting, and effective issue resolution.Continuously improve fleet policies, procedures, and service delivery.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed primarily in an office or operations environment. Periodic work outside in varying weather conditions and within garages, maintenance areas, parking lots, and active transportation locations may be required. The position requires travel to company locations, vendor sites, and project locations. Work hours may occasionally extend beyond the normal workday, including evenings or weekends, to support operational needs, startups, emergencies, or project deadlines.INTERPERSONAL CONTACTSThe Fleet Asset Manager maintains regular contact with company leadership, regional and terminal teams, Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Finance, Human Resources, vehicle and equipment vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external partners.
