Job summary

IB Abel, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Asset Coordinator to support the Fleet department and field operations across multiple locations. You will manage drivers, coordinate equipment logistics, and ensure timely maintenance and deployment of assets in the utility division.

The ideal candidate has heavy equipment experience, a clean driving record, proficiency with Outlook, Excel and Word, and may hold a Notary or tag & title experience. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
• Notary public certification or tag and title experience preferred.
• A clean driving record with ability to safely operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Manage drivers and coordinate equipment logistics with affected parties.
• Prioritize and process equipment requests and releases.
• Acquire rental equipment as needed for requests.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs; schedule downtime and restore service.
• Track asset usage and redeploy or release idle units.
• Coordinate logistics to reduce idle time and rental spend.
• Dispatch drivers or vendors to move or deliver equipment.

The Opportunity

To work as a team member for a leading electrical contractor as a Fleet Asset Coordinator who is responsible for providing quality service and support to our operating divisions at various locations operated by I.B. Abel, Inc. This position requires day to day interaction with effective communication and support services between the Fleet and field operations in the Utility Divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage drivers and facilitate all equipment logistics in cooperation with all affected parties.
• Prioritize and process equipment requests and releases via share point.
• Acquire rental equipment as needed for equipment requests.
• Coordinate all equipment maintenance and repair between the Fleet department and field operations. Schedule downtime with the field, track repairs through completion, and get units back in service.
• Responsible for utilization of all assets. Track equipment usage, identify idle or underused units, and redeploy or recommend release.
• Coordinate equipment logistics to optimize sharing across crews, projects, and locations to reduce idle time and rental spend.
• Dispatch of drivers or vendors to move/deliver equipment.

Who We’re Looking For

Required

• Specific expertise in both heavy equipment and boom equipped vehicles. (aerial devices).
• Driving record free of moving violations, accidents and have the ability to drive company vehicles safely.
• Outlook Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word skills required.
• Notary public certification or tag and title experience
• Clean driving record – free of moving violations, accidents, and can drive company vehicles safely.

Desired

• Over five years’ work experience in the Automotive, Truck or Equipment Field.
• College Degree – Computer Science, Business Administration, or Construction Management.
• Valid CDL and working knowledge of heavy equipment.
