TRUCKING PEOPLE is seeking an experienced Flatbed Tow Truck Operator (Class C) in Austin, TX. The role focuses on safely recovering, transporting, and relocating vehicles throughout the Austin area.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of flatbed towing experience, a clean driving record, and can meet DOT medical/physical requirements. This full-time position offers steady work, modern equipment, and a dependable team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class C Driver's License required.
• Clean driving record with no major moving violations.
• Minimum 2 years of professional flatbed towing or vehicle recovery experience.
• Experience operating rollback or flatbed tow trucks preferred.
• Must meet DOT medical and physical requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible schedule available.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flatbed tow truck to recover and transport vehicles.
• Perform vehicle loading, unloading, and securement using proper recovery techniques.
• Transport vehicles between designated operational locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
• Maintain accurate driving, inspection, and delivery logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
• Perform roadside vehicle recovery when required.
• Operate winching and recovery equipment safely.

We're hiring an experienced Flatbed Tow Truck Operator to safely recover, transport, and relocate vehicles throughout the Austin area.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flatbed tow truck to recover and transport vehicles
• Perform vehicle loading, unloading, and securement using proper recovery techniques
• Transport vehicles between designated operational locations
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections
• Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements
• Maintain accurate driving, inspection, and delivery logs
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams
• Perform roadside vehicle recovery when required
• Operate winching and recovery equipment safely

Perform basic vehicle servicing, including:

• Fueling
• Fluid checks
• Tire pressure inspections
• Reporting maintenance issues
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, safe working condition
• Work collaboratively with logistics and operations teams
