Job summary

Adcock Brothers Inc. is seeking a Flatbed/Stepdeck Freight Dispatcher to optimize fleet utilization, ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance, and drive profitability for specialized open-deck operations.

You will be the primary operational link between drivers, customers, and management in a on-site Westerville setting. The role requires 5+ years of dispatching flatbed/stepdeck equipment, experience with telematics tools (Samsara, Motive), and solid knowledge of OD/OW freight processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years dispatching flatbed and stepdeck equipment.
• Proficiency with telematics/ELD tools (Samsara, Motive) and FMCSA rules.
• Foundational knowledge of OD/OW freight processes.
• Familiarity with DoD transportation operations and the SDDC TEAMS platform.

Responsibilities

• Load Procurement & Fleet Optimization.
• Source, negotiate, and assign high-margin freight for flatbed and stepdeck equipment.
• Plan optimal routes based on cost structures (Owner-Operator vs. Company Driver), delivery timelines, and Hours of Service (HOS).
• Maximize asset utilization while actively minimizing deadhead and out-of-route miles.
• Act as the direct point of contact for drivers, brokers, and customers, delivering proactive transit updates.
• Resolve real-time operational disruptions quickly to minimize financial impact.
• Manage dispatch documentation and ensure precise data entry within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
