Job summary

Alamo Structural Steel is seeking a Driver to safely transport structural steel materials to Central Texas job sites. The role requires loading/unloading, securing loads, and maintaining compliance with DOT and company safety standards.

Minimum starting pay is $25.00 per hour, with pay based on qualifications and experience. CDL-A with manual transmission capability and 2 years tractor-trailer experience preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions - must be able to drive a manual
• DOT Physical Examination (medical card) and Drug Screening
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a tractor-trailer and hauling materials on a flatbed. Prior military driving/hauling experience will be considered.
• Cannot have more than one (1) moving violation in the past three (3) years
• Cannot have any road preventable accidents within the past three (3) years

Responsibilities

• Secure materials by means of chaining, strapping, and blocking under strict accordance and established procedures.
• Perform pre- and post- trip inspections; inspect the truck for defects and safe operating conditions, before, during, and after delivery trips.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, and radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
• Complete DOT-required drivers' daily log and trip sheets accurately without misrepresentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
