Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach at Derby High School to coach student-athletes in game strategies and skill development, promote safety, and maintain a positive educational environment.

Responsibilities include developing drills, teaching sport rules, supervising activities, and coordinating with parents and staff. A teaching certification or eligibility for KSHSAA Rule 10 is required or can be pursued.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification or eligibility for KSHSAA Rule 10.
• Ability to develop drill and practice activities.
• Knowledge of CPR and First Aid encouraged.
• Ability to communicate professionally with players and audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance skill development.
• Know sport rules and strategies to guide game play.
• Assist in supervision of activities and ensure safety and welfare of students.
• Maintain confidentiality about students and others.
• Assist in supervision during trips and other activities; follow district policies.
