Job summary

SelectToolUSAInc. in Shelby Township, MI is seeking a Fixture Builder to assemble fixtures and related tooling. You will read engineering drawings, inspect components, assemble fixtures, and test functionality ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires welding experience and general machining skills with Bridgeport/lathe/grinder. Inperson work with 40 hours per week and competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Fixture and general manufacturing experience.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• General machinist capabilities with Bridgeport, grinder, lathe.
• Ability to use forklift.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Organize and inspect incoming purchased and machined items.
• Assemble new fixtures and prepare for inspection.
• Test overall fixture functionality including motions and safety.

PrimaryDutiesandResponsibilities:

• Readandinterpretengineeringdrawingsandspecifications.
• Organizeandinspectallincomingpurchasedandmachineditems.
• Assemblenewfixturesinpreparationforinspectionandperformadjustmentsasrequired.
• Testoverallfixturefunctionalityincludingmotions,mechanisms,clamping,fits,ergonomics,safety,andotheritemsasapplicable.
• Performengineeringchangesandmaintenancetoexistingprojects.
• AssureallworkandproceduresconformtoSelectTool’sISOdocumentationandprocedures.
• Maintainandorganizedandcleanworkenvironment.
• Otherdutiesasassigned.

Requirements:

• Fixtureandgeneralmanufacturingexperience.
• Weldingexperienceandasset.
• Abilitytoreadblueprints&GD&T.
• Generalmachinistcapabilities(Bridgeport,grinder,lathe).
• Abilitytouseforklift.

Education:

• MinimumHighSchooldiploma.
• TechnicalSchoolGraduateorequivalentexperienceinanindustrialmanufacturingenvironment.
