Job summary

Delta Technologies, a leading tooling company, is seeking a Fixture Builder Journeyman to join our Auburn Hills, MI team. The role focuses on building and assembling automotive fixtures, operating precision machines, and applying GD&T to inspect parts.

The candidate must have 7+ years of fixture build experience, own tools, and a strong understanding of gauging and fixture practices in a fast-paced shop environment. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have 7 years of fixture build experience with Automotive Checking Fixtures or equivalent.
• Functional understanding of GD&T and its application.
• Familiar with 3D Viewer Software for pulling and dimensioning from designs.
• Must have your own tools for all processes of fixture building.
• Experience in a fast-paced fixture shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Capable of all aspects of Bridgeport operations and setups for machining simple and complex details.
• Capable of operating surface grinders and jib grinders for making pins.
• Capable of welding a plus.
• Understand safe machining processes of different materials.
• Understand functionality of pins and best practices for press fit pins and assembly.
• Capable of drilling, reaming and tapping holes.
• Capable of using calipers, micrometers and height gauge for precise workmanship.
• Capable of leading/training 2-3 upgrader fixture builders.
• Understand gages and fixtures and solve assembly issues.
• Ensure gages function properly for part materials.

Delta Technologies is an industry leading tooling company who is searching for an experienced Fixture Builder Journeymen.

Job Description

• Capable of all aspects of Bridgeport operations and setups for machining simple and complex details
• Capable of operating surface grinders and jib grinders for making pins
• Capable of welding a plus
• Understand safe machining processes of different materials
• Understand functionality of RFS pins and best practices for press fit pins and how to assemble all pins properly
• Capable of the proper processes of manually drilling, reaming and tapping holes
• Capable of accurately using all measuring devices including calipers, micrometers and a height gage to ensure precise workmanship
• Capable of leading/training 2-3 upgrader fixture builder's a plus
• Have a functional understanding of standard and non-standard gages and fixtures and capable of problem solving functional issues in the assembly process
• Ensure gages function appropriately for the material of the parts that are being gaged.

Job Requirements

• Must have High School degree or equivalent
• Must have minimum of 7 years of fixture build experience with Automotive Checking Fixtures or equivalent apprentice program training
• Must have a working knowledge of fixture build practices
• Functional understanding of GD&T and its application
• Familiar with using 3D Viewer Software for pulling and dimensioning details from designs
• Self-starter with positive attitude, good work ethic and punctual
• Must be organized and can multitask
• Must have your own tools for all processes of fixture building
• Experience with evolving pace and environment of a fixture shop
