Job summary

Nokia of America Corporation is seeking a Fixed Networks Broadband Customer Eng to support and evolve customer access networks from the Murray Hill, NJ area. This role focuses on planning, designing, upgrading, and integrating GPON/XGS-PON-based systems, Nokia WiFi, and related OSS interfaces to meet evolving service requirements.

The position requires 5 years postbaccalaureate experience or a Master’s with 3 years’ experience in network engineering, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of postbaccalaureate, progressive, related work experience.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
  • 3 years of experience with access technologies including GPON and XGS-PON.
  • 3 years of experience with network element management systems.
  • 3 years of experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
  • 3 years of experience with network engineering, network design, and network integration.
  • 3 years of experience with manual and automated configuration provisioning with stack development and device integration with customer’s OSS.
  • 3 years of experience with Zero Touch Provisioning.
  • 3 years of experience using Python or Javascript (Rhino) functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct network system element integration and verification by assisting in planning and executing solutions for network issues.
  • Support the design, architect, upgrade, and migration of access networks; including GPON, XGS-PON, Nokia WiFi, TR-069 ACS, and FWA introduction for new customers.
  • Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish installation standards or specifications.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Support network element integration, including documenting, performing software updates, and validating connectivity to network and element management system.
  • Contribute to system development design involving interface specs, MoPs, FMA, capacity guidelines, and performance analysis.
  • Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies.
  • Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert.

  • Conduct network system element integration and verification by assisting in planning and executing solutions for network issues.
  • Support the design, architect, upgrade, and migration of access networks; including GPON (Gigabyte Passive Optical Network), XGS-PON, Nokia WiFi, TR-069 Standard Auto Configuration Server (ACS), and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) introduction for new customers.
  • Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish installation standards or specifications.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Support network element integration, including customizing documentation, performing software updates, establishing and validating connectivity to network and element management system.
  • Contribute to system development design involving interface specifications, design of Migration Methods of procedure (MoPs), failure Mode Analysis, detailed capacity guidelines, and performance analysis.
  • Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies.
  • Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert. #LI-DNI

  • Must have 3 years of experience with manual and automated configuration provisioning with stack development and device integration with customer's OSS;
  • Must have 3 years of experience with Zero Touch Provisioning; and
  • Must have 3 years of experience using Python or Javascript (Rhino) functions.

Telecommuting up to 100% from anywhere in the U.S.

Domestic travel required up to 10%.
