Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support planning, expediting, and staging for assigned maintenance areas. The role focuses on ensuring work is fully planned, materials are available, and schedules are aligned with production and reliability goals.

The incumbent will integrate planning with procurement and supply chain, maintain equipment history and BOMs, and assist with outages and major maintenance planning.

Qualifications

  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, materials coordination, or expediting within a mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Two (2) years maintenance planning experience in a Process environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of process plant or fixed maintenance equipment and workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience using JDE, Xeras (or similar Zero-based budgeting tool).
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work closely with maintenance supervisors, operations, warehouse, procurement, and vendors to ensure the right resources are available at the right time to meet production and reliability objectives.
  • Develop detailed job plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities, including labor, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure work orders are fully planned and ready to execute prior to scheduling
  • Maintain accurate equipment history, job plans, and bills of material in the maintenance management system.
  • Support maintenance planning to align with operational priorities and shutdown schedules.
  • Collaborate with general and execution Supervisors to identify material risks and mitigate schedule impacts and job priority and availability.
  • Create and coordinate one-time job plans, where maintenance work needs to be completed due to operational changes, statutory requirement changes or equipment failures.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to expedite external parts and contractor labor. Ensure that all direct purchases and contracts for equipment and personnel meet Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to manage warehouse inventory (new stock requests, min/max levels, critical spares, obsolete inventory).
  • Ensure that parts, specialized tools, equipment, and external labor are immediately available when needed.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance kits for scheduled work, ensuring all required components are available prior to execution.
  • Support outage and major maintenance planning by ensuring long lead items and specialty services are identified and secured early.
  • Create and maintain work orders and requisitions (materials, equipment, and services) in JDE.
  • Update and maintain status of work orders in JDE to ensure accurate backlog and history.
  • Participate in the application of Reliability Methodologies for supporting the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies (RCM, RCA, FMECA, etc.)
  • Ensure that all parts and materials are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Help develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.

Job description

Under the direction of the Process Maintenance Planning General Supervisor, the incumbent will provide expediting, planning and staging services to the assigned maintenance areas. Ensures the work is properly planned and scheduled or expedited with trade requirements, stores material, direct purchase material, and specialty service(s) identified on the work order, while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values. This role integrates maintenance planning, materials coordination, and expediting functions to minimize downtime, improve schedule compliance, and support safe and efficient operations.

Essential Functions

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
