Job summary

PIMCO is seeking a highly skilled Performance Operations Associate/Senior Associate to oversee daily performance across hedge funds and other alternative accounts. You will investigate inquiries from internal stakeholders and develop tools to proactively identify anomalies.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in fixed income with a focus on performance management or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field; CFA/FRM progress preferred
• Understanding of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies
• Proficiency in SQL and related tools for report building and data analysis is advantageous
• Experience in providing internal customer service and collaborating with vendors
• Comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodologies, and risk measures
• Experience in calculating and interpreting portfolio results, attribution and benchmark analysis is a plus
• Self-directed with ability to identify and analyze problems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Ability to collaborate across technology, analytics, risk, operations, and portfolio management

Responsibilities

• Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Monitor and validate portfolio investment results including attribution and benchmark analysis
• Ensure accuracy of performance returns by coordinating with cross-functional teams
• Serve as a point of contact for performance-related issues with timely solutions
• Facilitate root cause analysis discussions to prevent future occurrences
• Identify potential problems and take corrective actions
• Recommend and implement ways to streamline and automate reporting processes
• Document firm processes, performance calculations, and methodologies for internal training
