Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Corporate Accounting professional specializing in fixed assets and leases. You will lead a team, ensure SOX controls, review journal entries, and drive process improvements across the lease lifecycle and asset accounting.

You will partner with Real Estate and Finance teams to analyze leases, manage CIP transfers, depreciation, and asset retirements, and support budget, forecasting, and external audits in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls required.
• A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with financial statement prep, month-end close, GL, JEs, reconciliations, budgeting/forecasting and variance analysis required.
• Experience preparing or reviewing SEC filings.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience using ERP and reporting software (Workday, Tango).
• Retail/grocery industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and define fixed asset and lease processes and policies.
• Act as SME for fixed asset and lease accounting.
• Collaborate with Real Estate to communicate lease term changes and guidance triggers.
• Partner with functional leads to establish best practices within the department.
• Analyze leases and amendments for accounting impact and record entries as needed.
• Review journal entries related to fixed assets and leases.
• Oversee reconciliation of fixed assets and leases.
• Coordinate CIP transfers and ensure accurate asset transfers to stores.
• Review period-end fixed asset and CIP reporting for management and financial reporting.
• Assist with budget and forecasting as needed.
• Oversee asset retirement obligation calculations (ARO).
• Maintain SOX controls and compliance.
• Utilize Tango and test new lease functionality.
• Coordinate between Tango and Workday integrations.
• Interact with external and internal auditors as required.
