Job summary

Dysart Unified School District is seeking a Fixed Asset Technician (Purch/Proc) to manage inventory and fixed asset procedures from the district finance system. The role requires setting asset lifecycles, depreciation, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.

The technician will coordinate tagging, surplus procedures, and maintain procurement compliance while communicating with students, staff, vendors, and auditors. Immediate starting date and a 1.0 FTE are noted.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with accounting or asset management beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret procurement and financial documents.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and monitor all assets in Fixed Assets module.
  • Review account coding on asset requisitions.
  • Set asset useful life and depreciation; prepare schedules.
  • Coordinate GASB 34 compliance and audit readiness.
  • Perform physical inventories and internal audits.
  • Coordinate tagging and surplus procedures.
  • Maintain asset control procedures and ensure compliance with policies and laws.

Summary

Maintains inventory control and all fixed asset procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Enter and monitor all assets on District Finance Accounting System in Fixed Assets module
  • Review account coding on requisitions pertaining to fixed asset acquisitions
  • Set useful life, depreciate all assets and provide reconciliation documents and depreciation schedules
  • Coordinate GASB 34 compliance issues and ensures that all audit requirements are met
  • Utilize software applications to optimize accounting, reconciling, reporting, and communication functions
  • Perform timely physical inventories and schedule regular internal audit reviews
  • Coordinate tagging of capital and stewardship assets
  • Coordinate District surplus procedures
  • Develop, implement, and analyze District property control procedures; maintain the inventory control process that will ensure compliance with District policies and procedures, procurement code, USFR, and any state or federal laws or regulations while concurrently providing fiscal accountability
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Other job related duties as assigned

Education
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
Licensing/Certifications
  • Valid Level I Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
Computer Skills
  • Competency in computer literacy and Excel
Abilities
  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
  • Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
Physical / ADA Requirements

Positions in this class require stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
