Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking an accounting support professional to assist the accounting team with general ledger balancing, journal entries, and monthly close.

The role includes reconciling bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least two years of experience, with an Accounts Payable certification and strong accounting systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Accounts Payable Certified.
• Working knowledge of accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Balancing general ledger and preparing financial statements.
• Processing monthly closing reports including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Recording contributions, distributions, and fund expenses with proper structures.
• Reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Monitoring receivables and assisting with past-due collections.
• Handling chargebacks and dividends efficiently.
• Maintaining up-to-date vendor information in the system.
