Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Ft. Worth, TX is seeking a Fitter/Welder to lay out, weld, and finish components for utility structures. You will set up welding equipment, read blueprints, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The role uses MIG welding to join steel and other metals, with a compensation structure of 36 hours paid for 40 hours. Requirements include at least 1 year of welding experience or weld training, ability to read technical layouts, and a dependable, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year welding experience or completed weld training/education.
• Experience with Flux or Metal Core welding preferred.
• Ability to measure within specified tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders.
• Experience in manufacturing transmission poles or related products is desirable.
• Dependable with a good attitude and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety practices and follow safety rules.
• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and/or final product.
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds.
• Position pieces in jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring tools.
• Maintain and complete required records.
• Participate in safety committees and other initiatives.
• Assist in training other employees on new tasks as needed.
