We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms, machinery frames, and other metal products. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
Fit and assemble metal parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Verify the alignment and dimensions of parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, rulers, and levels.
Grind, sand, or clean welds as required for quality and appearance.
Inspect finished products for quality, completeness, and conformance to specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety issues to supervision promptly.
Assist with other fabrication or maintenance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding .
Proven experience as a fitter/welder or similar role.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficient in various welding techniques and metal fabrication tools.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a welding/fabrication environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Certifications (not required but a plus):
AWS (American Welding Society) Certification
Forklift or crane operation certification
OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety training
