Job summary

Haskell is seeking a manufacturing support associate to assist in fabricating structural steel components and assemblies. You will operate basic fabrication equipment, stage materials, and support fitters and welders on a safe, organized shop floor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; restock supplies.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during fabrication.
• Keep tools and equipment clean and serviceable.
• Support fitters, welders, and machine operators as needed.
• Move and stage structural steel material; operate overhead cranes when trained.
• Assist with measuring, marking, and layout activities as directed.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Perform general housekeeping and shop support tasks.
• Other duties as needed.

Scope of Position

Supports structural steel fabrication operations by assisting fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel in the fabrication of structural steel components and assemblies. Performs a variety of shop support activities including material staging, grinding, material handling, housekeeping, and assisting with fabrication and assembly activities while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

1. 1. Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy - fuel torches, and other basic equipment, hand tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
2. 2. Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
3. 3. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and assemblies during fabrication activities.
4. 4. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
5. 5. Assist fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel as required to support fabrication operations.
6. 6. Gather, stage, stack, identify, organize, move, lift, and transfer structural steel material throughout the fabrication facility and safely operate overhead cranes when properly trained and authorized.
7. 7. Assist with measuring, marking, and layout activities as directed.
8. 8. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
9. 9. Perform general housekeeping and shop support activities throughout the fabrication facility.
10. 10. Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support our employees both on and off the job. New employees begin as NPCs (temporary employees) for an initial 45-day period, with the opportunity to transition to PCE (permanent employee) status based on successful performance.

Upon becoming a PCE, employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes full health benefits, paid time off (PTO), a 6% company match on the 401(k) and ESOP, quarterly bonuses, and a $250 annual boot voucher. Employees are also provided with company uniforms, including uniform cleaning/laundering services.

Education & Years of Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, fabrication, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred.
