Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a detail-oriented shop support technician to assist in structural steel fabrication. You will help fitters, welders, and operators while keeping work areas safe and organized.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in manufacturing or industrial settings; training on overhead cranes is provided. This role offers growth opportunities within a collaborative team and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, torches and related fabrication equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas; restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during fabrication.
• Support fitters, welders, machine operators and other production staff as required.
• Move and organize structural steel material and operate overhead cranes when trained.

Scope of Position

Supports structural steel fabrication operations by assisting fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel in the fabrication of structural steel components and assemblies. Performs a variety of shop support activi ties including material staging, grinding, material handling, housekeeping, and assisting with fabrication and assembly activities while maintaining a safe and productive work environment .

Job Responsibilities

• Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy - fuel torches, and other basic equipment, hand tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and assemblies during fabrication activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Assist fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel as required to support fabrication operations.
• Gather, stage, stack, identify, organize, move, lift, and transfer structural steel material throughout the fabrication facility and safely operate overhead cranes when properly trained and authorized.
• Assist with measuring, marking, and layout activities as directed.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping and shop support activities throughout the fabrication facility.
• Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Education & Years Of Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, fabrication, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred .
