The Haskell Company in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an entry-level shop support associate to assist with structural steel fabrication. You will help fitters, welders and operators while maintaining safe, organized work areas and supporting material handling and fabrication activities.

• Maintain clean, organized work areas and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials and assemblies.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition and serviceable.
• Support fitters, welders, machine operators and other personnel as needed.
• Stage and transfer structural steel materials and operate overhead cranes when trained.
• Assist with measuring, marking and layout activities as directed.
• Follow company safety, quality and environmental policies.
• Perform general housekeeping and shop support activities throughout facility.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Scope of Position

Supports structural steel fabrication operations by assisting fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel in the fabrication of structural steel components and assemblies. Performs a variety of shop support activi ties including material staging, grinding, material handling, housekeeping, and assisting with fabrication and assembly activities while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy - fuel torches, and other basic equipment, hand tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
2. Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
3. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and assemblies during fabrication activities.
4. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
5. Assist fitters, welders, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel as required to support fabrication operations.
6. Gather, stage, stack, identify, organize, move, lift, and transfer structural steel material throughout the fabrication facility and safely operate overhead cranes when properly trained and authorized.
7. Assist with measuring, marking, and layout activities as directed.
8. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
9. Perform general housekeeping and shop support activities throughout the fabrication facility.
10. Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Education & Years of Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, fabrication, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred.
