Job summary

Race Rock Group in Crowley, Texas is seeking a skilled welder to perform weld preparation, welding, and finishing in accordance with customer drawings and specifications. The role requires reading weld symbols and weld procedure specifications (WPSs) and maintaining strict quality in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform flux core welding, layout, fit-up, and documentation of process steps, with attention to safety and equipment maintenance.

Hourly Rate: Starting at $21/per hour based on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

1. Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
2. Interpretation of drawings, including weld symbols and interpret WPS’s.
3. Weld Components in flat and vertical.
4. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
5. Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
6. Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square and measuring tape.
7. Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
8. Welding equipment maintenance.
9. Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
10. Safety and Housekeeping.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of an internal welding test 1F, 1G, and 2F.
• Three-years flux core welding experience & fitup.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must be able to read drawings.
• Reliable work ethics with great attendance.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 75 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
