Job summary

TransTech in McGregor, TX is seeking a skilled pipefitter to join our fabrication team. You will select and safely use equipment, plan piping layouts, measure and mark pipes for cutting and welding, and assemble according to specifications.

This role requires knowledge of tape measures, rigging, overhead cranes, and safe tool use. You will maintain equipment, communicate with leadership on safety, productivity, and quality, and help ensure all work meets our standards.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of tape measure and standard measurements.
  • Ability to perform degree finding.
  • Ability to divide circumference of welds.
  • Knowledge of overhead cranes and hand signals.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices.
  • Must be able to adhere to standards and perform a quality job in a safe manner within an acceptable time.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and secure pipes according to specifications.
  • Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of power tools appropriate for the job.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and properly stored or kept.
  • Communicate with leadership all aspects and phases (safety, productivity, and quality) of work.
  • Check completed work prior to final welding to ensure conformity to specifications.

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • 2-5 years relevant work experience

Physical requirements: Standard requirements include Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching, standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to work at heights up to 25 feet.
