Job summary

The Norfolk Yacht and Country Club in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Front Desk/Member Services Associate for the fitness center to assist members and guests with check-ins, scheduling, and daily operations.

You will answer calls, greet members, process reservations, and help manage reports while ensuring club policies are followed and service remains welcoming and efficient.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months experience in customer service in health/fitness facility or similar setting.
• CPR and AED certified within 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to work unsupervised for some periods of time.
• Must be very reliable.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Manager on Duty.
• Closes Fitness Center in a timely manner.
• Answers telephone.
• Greets and checks in Members and Guests.
• Prints reports as necessary.
• Schedules appointments and take reservations.
• Properly rings up merchandise, drinks and snacks.
• Stays updated regarding policy changes through the communication log, memos, etc.
• Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. of weight.
• Answers questions concerning facility hours, operations, group exercise schedule, and other weekly meetings and programs.
• Pleasantly greets all member and staff within 30 seconds of entering/before leaving the facility.
• Knows and enforces all established Club and fitness policies and procedures.
• Wears the required dress code uniform.
• Maintains positive relation with members, co-workers and management.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty.
