Job summary

Planet Fitness seeks a full-time Trainer to lead the PE@PF program, design simple workouts, and instruct members on equipment use. You will assist members in achieving fitness goals while promoting class sign-ups and maintaining a welcoming club environment.

Responsibilities include running the PE@PF schedule, front desk duties, member check-ins, tours, and timely responses to inquiries, with escalation to Team Lead or Club Manager as needed.

Job Title: Trainer

Job Summary

Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

• Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to use the equipment properly and safely.
• Creating creative and unique ways to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
• Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist in front desk related activities including:
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
• Check members into the system.
• New member sign-up.
• Take potential members on tours.
• Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevate to Team Lead, MIT or Club Manager as needed.
• Help maintain the neatness/cleanliness of the club.
• Assist in cleanliness and appearance of club.

Minimum Qualifications

• Honesty and good work ethic

• A passion for fitness and health
• Punctuality and reliability are a must.
• Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co-workers, exceeding the member's expectations.
• Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
• Completed fitness trainer certification.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift
• Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. less than 30% of the time.
