Job Summary

The Fitness Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on proper and safe equipment use.
• Create bi-weekly updates with a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist with front desk activities such as answering phones, checking members in, signing up new members, and giving tours to prospective members.
• Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating to the Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• A passion for fitness and health.
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listening skills with empathy and problem-solving abilities.
• Diplomacy in all interactions, using appropriate behavior and language.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Nationally Certified Training Certificate.
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking continually during shifts.
• Talking in person or on the phone frequently.
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally encountering toxic chemicals during shifts.
