Job Title: Trainer
Reports to: Club Manager
Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and adhering to the schedule.
- Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on safe and proper equipment use.
- Develop creative strategies to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
- Create bi-weekly exercise updates with varied routines.
- Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
- Assist with front desk activities, including:
- Answering phones and assisting callers.
- Checking members into the system.
- Signing up new members.
- Guiding tours for potential members.
- Updating member account information.
- Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the club.
Minimum Qualifications
- Honesty and strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for fitness and health
- Punctuality and reliability
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a positive and professional attitude
- Active fitness trainer certification
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift
- Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. less than 30% of the time
