Job Title: Trainer

Reports to: Club Manager

Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and adhering to the schedule.
• Consult with members about their fitness goals and instruct them on safe and proper equipment use.
• Develop creative strategies to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
• Create bi-weekly updates with various exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist with front desk activities, including:
  • Answering phones and assisting callers.
  • Checking members into the system.
  • Signing up new members.
  • Touring potential members.
  • Updating member account information.
• Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly, escalating as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the club.

Minimum Qualifications

• Honesty and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A passion for fitness and health.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with a positive and professional demeanor.
• Strong listening skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
• Diplomacy in all interactions, using appropriate language and behavior.
• Completed fitness trainer certification.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift.
• Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. less than 30% of the time.
