QUALIFICATIONS:
60 or more hours of college credit required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
2+ years in working with elementary aged students in the area of fitness preferred

REPORTS TO:Building Principal

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Provides fitness activities for students in grades K-6

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement school physical education program to encourage the development of lifelong healthy habits for all children.
• Plan and implement lesson plans that call for students to have moderate to vigorous physical activity during designated class time
• Assess each student’s level of physical abilities and provide activities to increase fitness level
• Lead demonstration of proper skills for activities
• Encourage and demonstrate safety in all classroom activities
• Maintain effective internal and external oral and written communications with students, parents, school based staff, and district staff
• Follows curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school
• Keeps attendance records
• Maintains discipline in classroom and on school grounds
• Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems
• Participates in meetings and training workshops.
• Other duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee
