Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Fitness Director to provide leadership and strategic oversight for all fitness-related programs and services within the Family Center. You will oversee fitness floor operations, personal training, small group training, group exercise, and water fitness to create exceptional member experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.
• Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) required.
• 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in fitness, wellness, recreation, or health promotion programs.
• Experience managing budgets, payroll, scheduling, and program performance metrics.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead fitness programs and operations to deliver exceptional member experiences.
• Develop and lead high-performing teams across fitness, personal training, group exercise and water fitness.
• Drive participation and revenue growth through personal training, small group training, and wellness offerings.
• Analyze participation, retention, and financial data to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
• Oversee daily operations, ensure safety and cleanliness, manage budgets and scheduling.
