Job summary

Akima Intra-Data is seeking a Fitness Center Attendant to ensure daily operations, assist patrons, and maintain a clean, safe facility on-site in Biloxi, MS. The role emphasizes strong customer service and clear communication in English, with responsibilities including equipment checkout, records, and safety enforcement.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills for internal and external customers.
Teamwork mindset required.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Accept reservations, collect fees, hand out towels, check out equipment, and maintain operation records.
Prepare individual exercise records and demonstrate proper use of equipment.
Monitor exercise areas, sauna, steam rooms, and dressing areas for safety and rules compliance.
Greet customers, answer phones professionally, and provide information to customers and the fitness team.
Ensure security and accountability of government-furnished equipment and maintain cleanliness and serviceability of equipment.
Enforce rules, regulations and safety procedures.
Be available to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.
Perform other duties as required.
