Job summary

Akima is seeking a Fitness Center Attendant to support daily operations, assist patrons with questions and equipment, and uphold safety and cleanliness at our Biloxi fitness facility. The role emphasizes customer service and teamwork within a government-associated environment.

The position requires high school graduation, CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days, strong communication skills, physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and a valid state driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Accepts reservations, collects fees, hands out towels, checks out equipment, and maintains records for operation.
• May prepare exercise records and demonstrate proper use of equipment.
• Monitors exercise areas and sauna/steam rooms to ensure rules are followed.
• Greet customers, answer phones professionally, and provide information to customers and staff.
• Ensure security of government furnished equipment and maintain cleanliness of gear.
• Enforce rules, regulations and safety procedures.
• Available to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Performs other duties as required.
