Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Fitch Band Line/Woodwind Advisor to join their team in Austintown, Ohio. This full-time position requires extensive knowledge of flag and rifle techniques, as well as experience with collegiate marching bands.

The successful candidate must hold a valid Ohio Teaching License or a Pupil Activity Permit and will be responsible for teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior, attending rehearsals, and assisting with sectionals as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of flag and rifle technique and instruction.
• Must have at least two years' experience performing with a collegiate marching band.
• Valid and appropriate Ohio Teaching License or Pupil Activity Permit.

Responsibilities

• Attend rehearsals and performances of the Marching Band.
• Work with Line Captains to develop the Flag and Rifle Line.
• Assist with Woodwind sectionals as necessary.

Job Description

Salary: AEA Members: 2% of the base salary on the AEA Certified Salary Schedule
AEA Non-Members: 2% of the base salary on the Non-Degreed Certified Salary Schedule

Essential Duties:

• Must have extensive knowledge of flag and rifle technique and instruction
• Must have at least two years' experience performing with a collegiate marching band
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior
• Positive, high energy, and committed
• Partner well with the Band Staff
• Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as a cohesive team
• Able to have effective and positive communication with students, staff members, directors, and parents
• Responsible, professional, and embodies high ethical standards and integrity
• Attend Line rehearsals, Marching Band rehearsals, and Marching Band performances
• Work with the Line Captains to develop a high-quality Flag and Rifle Line
• Work with the Line Captains to create the routine and maintain rehearsal goals
• Share ideas based on knowledge and experience to enhance the overall vision of the Flag and Rifle Line
• Assist with Woodwind sectionals when deemed necessary by the Band Directors

Requirements Must Be On File Prior to Start:

• Valid and Appropriate Ohio Teaching License or Pupil Activity Permit
• Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and Training Certificate of Completion
• Favorable State and Federal background checks
• Negative Drug Screen Result
