Job summary
Paycom - ATS invites applications for the Assistant Swim Instructor at our YMCA program in Fishers, Indiana. Under supervision of the Program Coordinator or Aquatics Director, you will help run safe, educational swim classes and uphold all YMCA safety standards. This role offers a youth-friendly path for certification and professional growth.
Qualifications
Must be at least 14 years old.
Able to swim as determined by a swim test.
Maintain current First Aid certification or obtain within 60 days of employment.
When turning 16, obtain Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification or be able to obtain within 90 days.
Willing to obtain YMCA certifications such as Basic Swim Lesson Instructor and/or Water Fitness Instructor within 60-90 days.
Responsibilities
Assist with delivering safe and challenging swim instruction under supervision.
Follow YMCA safety guidelines and program policies.
Support lead instructors and communicate with families as needed.

(Test consists of being able to complete the strokes in which you will be instructing, able to tread water for at least 2 minutes, etc.)Maintain current First Aid certification or obtain within 60 days of employment.Once turning 16 years (recommended age for completion of HCP CPR according to the American Heart Association), obtain current Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification or be able to obtain one within 90 days.Ability to obtain YMCA certifications such as Basic Swim Lesson Instructor and/ or Water Fitness Instructor.Current certifications or ability to obtain New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention and Safety and Risk Management within 60-90 days of employment.
