Qualifications

• Enrollment as a part-time or full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time of application.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fisheries management across northeast South Dakota, including trap and transfer of fish and walleye spawning stocking efforts.
• Perform field duties: netting, electrofishing, AIS watercraft inspection.
• Conduct data entry and laboratory tasks (aging structures, estimating fish ages).
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Potential opportunities for independent research; publication of findings encouraged.
